About the INTO Newcastle University Center

With state-of-the-art facilities, university-style teaching, excellent resources and a great location on the Newcastle University campus, the INTO Center will be at the heart of your learning experience.

As well as modern classrooms and fantastic IT facilities, the Center houses a laboratory, a Language Resource Centre, specialist studios and a library. And you’ll be supported by our dedicated teachers and staff who’ll ensure you get the most from your time at Newcastle University.

When it comes to studying, the INTO Centre has everything you’ll need. Resources include:

  • social spaces and quiet spots for private study

  • modern classrooms with digital whiteboards

  • versatile lecture theatres with wall-mounted screens

Want to study online? You’ll have access to Canvas, a virtual learning environment where you’ll be able to download lecture notes and course content, as well as taking part in discussions with your classmates and teachers.

INTO Newcastle University's specialist architecture studio is a dedicated space equipped with everything a future architect needs. The studio includes large purpose-built desks with drawing boards and storage units for students' work and modelling materials.

You'll have access to the latest technology to support your architectural and design work. Equipment includes computer clusters and purpose-built computer workstations with architectural software such as CAD and Photoshop.

You'll find two specialist science laboratories at the INTO Centre. These well-equipped facilities include a 'Wet Lab' for chemistry, biology or pharmacy students and a 'Dry Lab' for those studying physics, engineering or computing.

If you're a Biomedicine, Biology and Pharmacy student you'll also benefit from field trips to the University's Marine Laboratory and Electron Microscope.

The INTO Newcastle Café is a bright and friendly space in the centre where you can enjoy hot and cold food, as well as a variety of drinks.

We cater for most diets, with a wide range of international cuisines on offer for you to try. Or, if you like, just stop by for a coffee and a quick study session!

As an INTO student, you'll also have access to the University's range of fantastic facilities:

  • Philip Robinson Library - one of four libraries run by the award-winning library service team

  • Newcastle University Sports Centre - exceptional on-campus sports facilities
